The back of the microphone won't touch your forehead when you're looking through the viewfinder, and setup is easy even with gimbals and grips.

Battery-free convenience

When you attach the ECM-G1 to the MI (Multi-Interface) Shoe of any of Sony's compatible cameras, power is supplied directly from the camera to the microphone. This lets you handle extended shooting sessions free of concerns about the microphone battery running out.
