Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM Lens - 9321A002
Canon's EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM Lens is a streamlined telephoto zoom lens offering incredible performance across its entire zoom range. A standard zoom lens is a lens in which the focal length varies, unlike a prime or fixed lens. A zoom lens is one that maintain (or regains) focus even with focal length of the subject-matter changes. Zoom lenses, such as this, provide the user with a convenient, go-to lens of variable focal length. It provides a Comparable APS-C 1.6x Focal Length of 112 - 480 mm. Its optical performance is amplified by the incorporation of Canon's Diffractive Optics technology with its Dual Mode Image Stabilization. The use of Diffraction Optics allows a lens to be shorter, lighter, and of higher image quality than comparable normal optical systems of the same focal length and aperture-while this lens is heavier than the consumer-grade EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens, it is 28% shorter and uses Canon's very best ring-USM (ultrasonic) motor instead of the lighter, slower, and less costly 'micro-USM' motor. The dual action Image Stabilization allows you to operate the lens handheld at shutter speeds 3 stops lower than would be otherwise possible. Its first mode corrects for hand shake and vibration in all direction and is aptly suited for still subjects. The second mode of IS allow for higher performance across both axis when tracking moving objects. It also features a zoom lock button that keeps the lens safe and secure when not in use or when being used at the shortest 70mm focal length setting. The EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM creates a 34° - 8° 15' angle of view, 4.60' minimum focusing distance and accepts 58mm filters.
CANON L SERIES
The L Series denotes Canon's professional line of lenses. Though used extensively by non-professionals, these lens have been engineered to the highest of standards. These luxury lenses incorporate such advanced optical advantages as Super Low Dispersion Glass, Ultra-Low Dispersion Glass, flourite elements and aspherical design elements. All of these combine to produce reliably incredible images.
DIFFRACTIVE OPTICS (DO)
Canon's Diffractive Optics technology allows the lens to be lighter and shorter than normal optical systems. The unique multilayer diffractive elements are constructed by bonding diffractive coatings to the surfaces of two or more lens elements. These elements are then fused to form a single multilayer DO element. While conventional glass lens elements disperse incoming light, causing chromatic aberration, the DO element’s dispersion characteristics are designed to cancel chromatic aberrations at various wavelengths when combined with conventional glass optics. This technology results in smaller lenses with no compromise in image quality.
Manual focusing means you have all the control at the end of your fingers. Canon lenses feature a specially designed ergonomic construction that is noticeable at first touch. The large rotation angle of this lens guarantees precise focusing. The mechanism moves super smoothly and without extra play, furthering the intuitive interaction along the focal plane.
Canon L Series lenses feature a fluorine coating on the front and rear surfaces. This coating helps to greatly reduce smears, smudges or fingerprints ensuring that you will always take impeccable images.
ULTRA SONIC MOTOR (USM)
Canon's USM lenses employ a motor powered by ultrasonic waves that produce a quiet, yet high-speed AutoFocus. You can enjoy high performance with low noise in a variety of shooting situations.
ADVANCED APERTURE DESIGN
The circular aperture produces a natural background blur. With Canon lenses you can create stunning Bokeh effects, thanks to the finely tuned features and advanced optical design. By keeping the background intentionally blurred, additional focus is created on the subject of an image. The uniquely engineered diaphragm blades of this lens, along with the virtually circular aperture, deliver stunning renditions of highlights the back and foreground.
DUAL MODE IMAGE STABLIZATION (IS)
Lens features Optical Image Stabilization technology, a feature that employs an innate, built-in mechanism in order to compensate for camera shake. The IS II Optical Image Stabilizer provides up to 4 stops of correction at all focal lengths and features two modes for stabilization of still objects and while panning to follow moving subjects. By eliminating natural shakes and sways with camera movement your images will come out crisp and clean every time.
