Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm Over-Ear Studio Headphones (Black)

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphones of exceptional quality suitable for the most demanding professional and audiophile applications. The long term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO the perfect monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production or broadcasting situations. The low MC and diaphragm assembly produce a transient performance equaled only by electrostatic earphones, and, in combination with a carefully tailored frequency response offer a natural and balanced sound.

Construction

The robust spring steel headband ensures a secure fit for the wearer. Soft earpads and adjustable, sliding, earpieces together with a single sided connecting cable ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use. The DT 770 PRO features 80 Ohm drivers and a gold-plated 3.5mm stereo jack with 1/4-inch inch adapter, and is therefore suitable for use with almost all headphone amplifiers. The single-sided cable allows the headphones to be put on and taken off frequently without cables getting tangled.

Returns

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.
You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges. 
You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days. 
If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery. If there is carrier damage, please contact [email protected] with your order number and a description of the damage.

We do not currently offer exchanges. Please return the item you purchased within 30 days and order what you’d like instead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality headphones, made in Germany Sound great, made in Germany, comfortable. Only issue is that you need to turn your volume up a lot to hear them. But that also is a good way to prevent yourself from accidentally blasting your ears.

I chose these on the basis of the many online reviews, as an upgrade from some old Sonys that were purchased for broader use (not composing/mixing). These DT770s, while a bit tight-fitting, are also rather comfortable, even though they don't 'disappear' on my head. I do have a large head, though, so i am looking forward to breaking them in a bit. The design is fine, although i do not understand having the exposed wires on each side. My fingers touch/move them each time i put them on/take them off. Probably won't realistically be a weak spot, but i feel like the design should have made them internal to some structure. My old Sony MDR-CD580s, for example, do not reveal those wires. Bass is good, and not over pronounced. I hear detail in recorded tracks i hadn't previously noticed. But, they are considerably brighter than my studio monitors and versus the Sonys and my bluetooth earbuds. So, i'm not sure which i will trust when i get to mixing, and i imagine i'll have to go toward a 'mean' rather than just one system or the other. Still, the fact that these are the outliers makes me think it's just in their particular character, and so i have concerns about the 'accuracy' in that aspect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound, reliable build, decent comfort. I bought this about a month ago, and I have been blown away by the sound quality. Listening back to your favorite albums will be a totally different sound experience. Great for music production as well. The build quality is very good as well, and I can't imagine running into any issues for the foreseeable future. I have a big head, and I sweat a lot, so getting these plush pads was a 50/50 whether or not they would be comfortable. I have been pleasantly surprised by the heat aspect, as I don't notice any comfort issues with sweat or general heat. However, I do think the clamping power is a little much, especially when recently purchased. Like I mentioned, I have a larger head, but they have grown in a little bit and are more comfortable now. Overall, great product, but be careful if you have a larger head.

I decided to sell my Audio Technica ATH-M50s to a friend, so I went with the DT 770 Pros after reading/watching so many positive reviews on them. I have them going through an Audient EVO 4 and the sound quality is night and day compared to the M50s into the front I/O of my computer! I had to go and listen to everything I listen to on a daily basis just because I felt like I was missing half the song before. I'm no producer or audiophile. Just a casual musician/gamer who can appreciate amazing sound quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Question about the Low End It's the first time to purchase and listen to dt 770 pro 80ohm version. I had a 32 ohm version before. I just found that the 80 ohm version which is this order has some distortion on bass frequency when you turn the amplifier up little bit and32 OHM and ath m50x works fine on it. I am just curious about if it is what the product should be. Overall the purchase experience is perfect. Hope someone can help me about my question.
