Fast T1.5 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over focus placement for shallow depth of field applications. The lens completes an optical system based on superior optical technologies, and maintains excellent resolution both at the center and around the periphery of the lens by adopting a high performance Glass Molding ASP lens and Ultra Multi Coating. UMC coating improves light transmission and suppresses lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral images.

This lens is compatible with full-frame sensors and can also be used on APS-C sized sensors, where the 35mm equivalent focal length will be 56mm.
