ADAM Audio HPS (high-frequency propagation system) waveguide technology enables tweeters to disperse sound with controlled consistency, broad on the horizontal axis but tightly focused in the vertical plane. The A-Series introduces a rotatable HPS waveguide design. You can shift A Series tweeters in 90-degree steps to continue to benefit from HPS waveguide technology whether you position the speakers horizontally or vertically. The A-Series HPS Waveguide is made from a new glass fiber polymer compound that helps create a clear sound, free of unwanted resonance. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is at the heart of the rotatable HPS waveguide. Handmade in Germany, the X-ART tweeter provides precise transient responses and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in every A Series speaker, providing a detailed, consistent sound across the product line.  

Adam Audio Sub12 12-Inch Powered Studio Subwoofer

The Sub12 is a powerful subwoofer designed to extend the low-frequency capabilities of any near or midfield monitoring system down to 22Hz. A sturdy special woofer with extended cone travel and a heavy-duty coil have been optimized for accurate reproduction from a bass reflex enclosure. The down-firing bass reflex tube avoids intrusive ventilation noise because of its generous size and shape. The PWM amplifier produces over 90% efficiency and can handle critical passages without overheating for long periods. An additional output allows you to cascade as many subwoofers as needed. The Sub12 subwoofer provides a precise combination of low cutoff frequency (-3 dB at 22Hz) and an undistorted high sound pressure level (115dB at 1m).

The A-Series HPS Waveguide is constructed of a unique glass fiber polymer composite that aids in the creation of a clear, resonance-free sound. The rotating HPS waveguide is powered by the ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter. The X-ART tweeter is handcrafted in Germany and enables precise transient responses and reproduction of the finest acoustic characteristics.

Mineral Woofer with Multiple Layers

A Series of woofers are made from a special blend of mineral stone fibers that have been baked together to create a lightweight but extremely stable material. Each cone's mineral composition, layering, and geometry are unique to the driver used in the model. A Series woofers produce strong output with little distortion and a clear low-end by combining this material with a novel magnet technology.

Hybrid Amplification

The A-Series is a hybrid of digital and analog technology. Class D amplifiers drive the woofers, which aid to create linear performance while minimizing distortion. These amplifiers were chosen for their power and efficiency, both in terms of energy usage and sound reproduction. Low thermal dissipation allows for a smaller heat sink, allowing for more investment in the A-Series' excellent power and performance.

Electronics with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP)

The A-Series takes advantage of DSP-based electronics' revolutionary capacity to give more tuning precision and predictability than analog-only speakers. With firmware that can be updated via Ethernet, you can expect to see the latest ADAM Audio DSP-based capabilities, such as additional filter types and features, as well as alternate voicings, over time.

Room Adaptation

There are four bands of room adaptation equalization on the back panel of A-Series speakers: Bass, Desk, Presence, and Treble. Each band can be adjusted in predetermined increments, providing over 100 tuning possibilities to assist compensate for common acoustic issues caused by speaker placement.

A Control (Real-Time Remote Control) 

All A-Series monitors' DSP-based features can be controlled remotely and in real-time over Ethernet using the free A Control program. Customers who have registered their A-Series monitors can obtain a Control for Windows and macOS from the MyADAM section of www.adam-audio.com.

Room Correction and Sonarworks Integration 

Speakers in the A-Series are meant to adapt to changing needs, tastes, and situations. Advanced filters can be immediately pushed to an embedded platform onboard the monitors using the A Control software to help adjust for poor room acoustics.
