Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera

The Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera is a digital film camera that is designed to be operated remotely and capture action anywhere. The super 16mm sensor of the camera delivers incredible dynamic range. The built-in expansion port includes PWM and S.Bus inputs that will allow you to use a model airplane remote control to operate the camera wirelessly. The Micro Cinema Camera also features built-in RAW and ProRes recording, 13 stops of dynamic range, and an MFT lens mount. 

Extremely Customizable Design

The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera features a lightweight and strong magnesium alloy construction that is durable enough to shoot anywhere. You can directly access the camera when it's mounted with the dedicated front buttons or use it wirelessly when it's out of reach.

Revolutionary Expansion Port

The revolutionary expansion port allows users to create custom remote control, external power, and monitoring solutions. Users get complete access to a variety of camera functions with the included breakout cable.

Remote Monitoring

The camera can also be connected to low-cost wireless video transmitters for remote monitoring with the NTSC and PAL composite video outputs. Users have access to view exactly what the camera records. For higher quality monitoring, the camera features an additional HDMI output for wireless HD video transmitters.

Super 16mm Sensor

Get true digital film quality images with the Super 16 sensor on the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera. This sensor is full 1080 HD resolution and has an incredible 13 stops of dynamic range. It can capture more detailed information in both bright and darker areas of the image. The Blackmagic Micro Cinema provides brighter highlights without clipping and rich detail in shadows. 

Built-in RAW and ProRes Recorder

The built-in recorder of the camera can capture true 12-bit log digital film quality images. The files can be saved either in Cinema DNG RAW or ProRes. Cinema DNG RAW files are a 12-bit log and will provide users all the data from the camera’s sensor.

Interchangeable Lenses

The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera features an active Micro Four Thirds lens mount, so it gives users the versatility to interchange lenses. It's compatible with a variety of lenses, including the wide-angle, primes, standard zooms, telephotos, and more. With the camera’s expansion port, the focus, iris, and zoom on active MFT lenses can be controlled remotely. 

Expandable Connections

The left side of the camera consists of an SD card slot for recording and 3.5mm stereo input for connecting a microphone or line-level devices. The right side of the camera includes a full-size HDMI connector for monitoring video output and an expansion port. 

Professional Sound

The high-quality stereo omnidirectional microphone features a mechanical design and helps to reduce unwanted wind noise. Users can plug-in directional or wireless clip-on microphones with the built-in 3.5mm input connector. The 3.5mm input jack supports both mic or line-level devices.

Battery or External Power

You can also attach any readily available LP-E6 battery to the back of the camera for remote recording. Users can monitor the battery level even when the camera is operated remotely. The battery level is displayed in an overlay when the camera is connected to an HDMI display or on the PAL/NTSC video output.
