The Black Magic OpenGear Converter SDI to Analog includes everything you need to convert from SDI to analog HD/SD component, NTSC and PAL video out, plus balanced AES/EBU and analog audio out. The converter features built-in hardware down converter to connect HD-SDI video to SD equipment. You can easily connect to Betacam SP, VHS, and video monitors.

Open Architecture Converter

The Blackmagic OpenGear Converter is fully compatible with the OpenGear standard and with 20-card models of the 2 RU (rack unit) OpenGear frames. The OpenGear cards and frames developed by several manufacturers can be mixed and matched. The OpenGear cards are hot-swappable. They can be controlled and monitored by java based DashBoard network control and monitoring software on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

The Blackmagic OpenGear Converter can switch between all SD and HD video formats. It automatically matches the SD, HD, and 3G-SDI video input.

Redundant SDI Input

Blackmagic OpenGear SDI to Analog converter features a Redundant SDI Input, which is ideal for mission-critical or live broadcast tasks. You can easily connect the redundant cable to the second input. Blackmagic OpenGear Converter will automatically switch over in an instant if the main SDI input is lost. You can also connect other devices via a loop-through SDI output. Other Blackmagic OpenGear Converters can also be looped, when de-embedding more audio channels.

Hardware Down Converter

Blackmagic OpenGear Converter SDI to Analog features a high-quality HD down converter that automatically adapts to the SDI input video format and outputs standard definition analog video in letterbox, anamorphic 16:9, or center-cut 4:3.

Built-in AES/EBU or Analog Audio

The Blackmagic OpenGear Converter feature 24-bit analog and 24-bit digital audio. Either analog or AES/EBU digital audio via mini switches, or remotely via the DashBoard network control software can be selected. The converter then switches to use either analog or AES/EBU digital audio. Blackmagic OpenGear Converter supports the standard 2 ch and 4 ch audio rear modules, which makes it compatible with other brand OpenGear products.
