Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Mini Recorder

The UltraStudio 4K Mini is a portable Thunderbolt 3 capture and playback solution packed with the latest broadcast technology, including 12G‑SDI, HDMI 2.0 and analog connections. It gives you broadcast quality 8- and 10-bit high dynamic range capture in all formats up to 4K DCI at 60 fps, and 12-bit high dynamic range capture in all formats up to 4K DCI at 30 fps. It’s small enough to fit in a rack or be used on a desktop. The front panel features push button controls, an LCD for monitoring signal and setup, an XLR microphone input and a 1/4-inch headphone jack. The UltraStudio 4K Mini Recorder features USB for connecting a keyboard and mouse, plus it will trickle charge their laptop computer when connected to the Thunderbolt 3 port. There’s even a built-in SD card reader allowing instant access to their camera media cards.

Inputs and Outputs

With UltraStudio, you can virtually connect to any video device. This unit includes SDI in and out, HDMI out for monitoring on TVs and projectors, and analog YUV/NTSC/PAL video and balanced analog input for archiving from legacy analog broadcast tape decks. It comes with an extra HDMI input plus a balanced analog audio out for connecting to in-studio audio monitoring.

With 12G‑SDI connection’s multi rate feature, you can connect the UltraStudio 4K Mini to all of your existing SD and HD equipment and also equipment supporting Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60.

Compact and Stylish Design

The UltraStudio 4K features an elegant front panel with integrated color LCD and fast control buttons, with the rear panel using industry-standard BNC and HDMI connectors for video connections. It is designed for portability and can be used as a standalone on a desktop or rack mounted with other equipment. That means it has a very low visual impact when placed on a desktop, and you can fit up to three of them in a single rack unit size.
