Construction

The EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens is comprised of 17 lens elements in 13 groups. A Super UD (ultra-low dispersion) element offers improved image quality by greatly reducing color fringing and chromatic aberrations. Super Spectra Coating (SSC) and Air Sphere Coatings (ASC) minimize ghosting and flare. Optical placement of the lens construction has been improved to bring the center of gravity closer to the rear. This allows for you to position your lens more easily for fast framing. Increased Heat Shielding reduces the thermal effects on the lens to maintain quality throughout the life of the lens.

Image Stabilization

The Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens features a dynamic 5.0-stop optical image stabilization system with 3 distinct IS modes to help you find the perfect image every time.
