Product notes:
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens
Canon's EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens is a powerful telephoto zoom lens specifically engineered to meet today's standards of professional performance. It offers a Comparable APS-C 1.6x Focal Length of 112 - 480mm. Its f/4 maximum aperture enables crisp images even when shooting at telephoto lengths in low-light conditions. The lens' USM AF is very quick, smooth and silent, and it features a zoom lock button that keeps the lens safe and secure when not in use or when being used at the shortest 70mm focal length setting. The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 has Canon's "Super Spectra" lens coatings for ideal flare-resistance, and is ideal for travel, sports, and general photographic applications. The dual action Image Stabilization allows you to operate the lens handheld at shutter speeds 3 stops lower than would be otherwise possible. Its first mode corrects for hand shake and vibration in all direction and is aptly suited for still subjects. The second mode of IS allow for higher performance across both axis when tracking moving objects. It also features a zoom lock button that keeps the lens safe and secure when not in use or when being used at the shortest 70mm focal length setting. There is one Ultra Low Dispersion glass element and lens coatings which help combat the effects of chromatic aberration across the entire range. This lens creates a 34° - 8° 15' angle of view, 4.92' minimum focusing distance and accepts 58mm filters.
Ultra Sonic Motor (USM)
Canon's USM lenses employ a motor powered by ultrasonic waves that produce a quiet, yet high-speed AutoFocus. You can enjoy high performance with low noise in a variety of shooting situations.
Dual Mode Image Stabilization (IS)
Lens features Optical Image Stabilization technology, a feature that employs an innate, built-in mechanism in order to compensate for camera shake. The IS II Optical Image Stabilizer provides up to 4 stops of correction at all focal lengths and features two modes for stabilization of still objects and while panning to follow moving subjects. By eliminating natural shakes and sways with camera movement your images will come out crisp and clean every time.
Advanced Aperture Design
The circular aperture produces a natural background blur. With Canon lenses you can create stunning Bokeh effects, thanks to the finely tuned features and advanced optical design. By keeping the background intentionally blurred, additional focus is created on the subject of an image. The uniquely engineered diaphragm blades of this lens, along with the virtually circular aperture, deliver stunning renditions of highlights the back and foreground.
Ultra Low Dispersion Glass (UD)
Canon's Low Dispersion technology is engineered to reduce chromatic aberrations, eliminating the tendency of light of different colors to focus to different points at the image plane. This means your images will come out crisp and clear, with less of a chance of defracting light into an unwanted rainbow of colors. Take shots exactly like you want, without any flare-up or blurring.
Anti-Reflective Coating
The Canon anti-reflective coating is an optical design feature which ensures superior clarity and image brilliance, even in poor or unfavorable lighting conditions. Canon applies the anti-reflective coating through a special process, layering the lens surface in order to substantially reduce unwanted flare or ghosting. This process helps to ensure incredibly rich image contrast and true color fidelity.
Super Spectra
Canon's Super Spectra coating is uniquely engineered for digital cameras to suppress the flaring and ghosting commonly caused by reflections from digital camera sensors.
