Introducing the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Digital Mirrorless
Camera in Black, the most powerful EOS 5 series camera yet. The new full-frame,
back-illuminated stacked CMOS 45 Megapixel sensor has extraordinarily rapid
signal readout speeds, is intended to reduce rolling shutter, and can achieve
up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter. Once you've calibrated the viewfinder
to your eye, look where you wish to focus, and the AF Area will shift when you
push the AF activation button. Encoding focus on important individuals allows
you to capture the action photo you want when everything is moving quickly.
Continuously monitor a subject, even if they are briefly concealed while
filming. Deep learning technology enables increased image resolution while
maintaining quality. RAW video can be recorded at 8K and 4K (S-RAW) resolution.
Upgraded CMOS Sensor
The new CMOS full-frame sensor is stacked and back-illuminated, resulting in
outstanding electronic shutter performance of 30 fps in RAW or full-resolution
JPEG still shots. This brand-new full-frame sensor design enables exceptional
electronic shutter performance of 30 fps in RAW or full-resolution JPEG still
photos. Canon's enhanced sensor readout speeds result in greatly reduced
rolling shutter distortion. When the shutter is halfway pressed during
electronic shutter mode, the camera begins recording photographs; when fully
pressed, the previous 0.5 seconds of images are saved to the memory card. Canon
developed the DIGIC Accelerator chip as a whole new processor to augment the
power of the proven DIGIC X. It performs the processing that enables so many of
the camera's new functions, letting the DIGIC X chip to focus only on picture
processing, resulting in amazing speed. It analyzes vast amounts of data
straight from the image sensor for tasks like as AF detection, exposure metering
calculations that allow for eye-control focus, subject identification and
tracking, as well as deep learning with functions like in-camera upscaling and
noise reduction.
Advanced Auto-Focus
When everything is happening quickly, make sure you capture the action photo
you desire. Action priority may recognize and monitor individual people while
also taking into account ball tracking, movement tracking, People Priority,
eye-control AF, and other features. It is now available for soccer, volleyball,
and basketball. The R5 Mark II includes Canon's Eye Control AF, which is more
advanced than the Eye Control in the EOS R3 camera and allows for even faster
positioning of your active AF Area. Once you've calibrated the viewfinder to
your eye, look where you wish to focus, and the AF Area will shift when you
push the AF activation button. This new device is even durable enough to
function while the user wears glasses.
RAW Video Features
RAW video is now recorded at 8K resolution, and there is also an
S-RAW option for 4K RAW video recording. RAW video is now 12-bit recorded,
providing a wider range of tonalities. For customers who do not require
RAW footage, MP4-type video can be recorded in a variety of file formats and
resolutions, including Full HD at up to 240 frames per second, 4K at up to 120
frames per second with sound, and 8K at up to 60 frames per second. With its 45-megapixel sensor, the camera can record 8K video at 60 frames per second on its
CFexpress card. Menus now incorporate Cinema EOS terminology, making it simpler
for advanced video users to use the R5 Mark II with Cinema EOS cameras such as
the EOS C400. Any of the 'Fine' selections record oversampled video, which
provides even higher clarity and detail. Canon Log 2 and C-Log 3 are available.
Furthermore, the R5 Mark II includes a full-size HDMI port on the camera,
Waveform monitors, and up to 24-bit, 4-channel audio recording.
Better Stabilization
The EOS R5 Mark II 5-axis in-body stabilization achieves excellent image
stabilization by utilizing coordinated IS in conjunction with RF lenses that
include IS. The roll operation range is now approximately twice that of the EOS
R3, and when a compatible lens is used, the CMOS sensor prevents blurring at
the image's periphery, as well as in the center.
Better Quality
The IS algorithm has been upgraded, and a new mechanical design now allows for
coordinated correction at 8.5 stops in the center and 7.5 stops on the
periphery. With all of the upgrades, the EOS R5 Mark II uses somewhat more
power than previous EOS Mirrorless cameras. Therefore it comes with a new,
higher amperage battery, the LP-E6P. It is the same size and form as prior LP
batteries, however it may be differentiated from older models by a white stripe
and the Canon emblem. This new battery is compatible with older Canon
mirrorless and DSLR cameras, but requires a software upgrade. Canon LP-E6N and
LP-E6NH battery packs are compatible with the R5 Mark II camera, although they
have some severe limitations, particularly Wi-Fi connectivity and video
recording. Continuous drive speeds with mechanical or first-curtain electronic
shutters will be lowered. This also applies to any battery in the optional
battery grips. The modern electronic viewfinder. Some of the EVF lenses inside
the body are enclosed in an airtight construction, making the viewfinder less
likely to fog up. The new electronic viewfinder is the same 0.5-inch 5.76
million dot OLED EVF as the EOS R3, with about 100 percent coverage, 0.76x
magnification, and an eyepoint of around 24mm. It has dual card ports for
CFexpress and UHS-II SD memory cards.
