Lightweight

For a portable and easy no-tool set up telescope, the Celestron AstroMaster LT 70AZ Refractor is definitely one of the best. As a planet viewing telescope, the optical tube has a focal ratio of f/10 and light gathering power of 100x which makes it perfect for viewing high surface brightness objects at smaller field of views and high magnification eyepieces. Assembly

To assemble, simply mount the optical tube to the mount and snap the accessory tray on and you've got a totally functional telescope! A permanent StarPointer on the top of the optical tube helps center the scope on an intended coordinate of the night sky. Included with this package are two eyepieces and the the SkyX First Light Edition Astronomy Software.

Features

The AstroMaster LT 70AZ Telescope from Celestron delivers a 70mm aperture for basic celestial viewing. The StarPointer finderscope is factory attached to the optical tube for extra convenience. It has an illuminated reticle to help zero in on the general field of view containing the targeted sky object. The StarPointer's battery is included. Two eyepieces of 10 and 20mm are part of the package as is a star diagonal to help lessen neck strain during long viewing sessions and help observe objects nearer the zenith of the night sky. Tripod and More

The extendable steel leg tripod has a deluxe accessory tray that, besides providing the convenience of where to place the extra eyepiece, pencil, observation notebook, etc., also adds to the stability of the tripod. An easy to use manual pan-handle mount furnishes altazimuth movement of the scope around the celestial dome. The pan handle helps the telescope with smooth and accurate pointing. Fully multi-coated optics supply clear and crisp images. The included TheSkyX astronomy software comes with a database of 10,000 objects, printable sky maps and 75 enhanced images for education and location.
