Dakota Alert MURS-BS-KIT Base Station Alert System Kit
The Dakota Alert MURS-BS-KIT Base Station Alert System Kit contains both the Dakota Alert Base Station and the Dakota Alert transmitter. This system features an extended range that will help monitor areas that have been very difficult to monitor in the past. It is ideal for trying to monitor customer traffic, security guards trying to monitor remote warehouses, farmers monitoring vacant farm sites, and hunters monitoring game trails. The MURS Alert system will give you real-time monitoring of any location that you choose.
Transmitter
The transmitter has a passive infrared sensor that can be mounted on a tree or a post to monitor activity at remote locations. When the MURS Alert detects people, vehicles, or large animals, it will send an alert signal to the transceivers. The alert signal will be in spoken English, twice repeating the phrase corresponding to which zone was triggered. The four alert messages are easily selected at the transmitter so that up to four different zones can be monitored simultaneously. The transmitter has five channels and 38 sub-channels to choose from, to help to eliminate interference. The 6AA batteries should last about one year under most conditions. The Transmitter has a range of up to several miles depending on topography and conditions.
Base Station
The M538-BS is a base station that receives alert signals from the MURS Alert transmitter and also can be used for two-way voice communications between other MURS transceivers. The BS has five channels and 38 sub-channels to help you communicate with other users. The M538-BS is powered by a plug-in transformer. The BS is capable of communicating over distances of several miles. The base station is equipped with a normally open (N/O) relay output. The relay can be used to connect the base station to other existing systems such as alarm panels or doorbells. The base station can also be used to communicate with the M538-HT hand-held radio. This allows someone in the house or shop to be in direct contact with someone out in the field.
