LaCie Rugged Mini 5TB USB 3.0 External Portable Hard Drive
The LaCie Rugged Mini Hard Drive has a rugged hard design that can withstand shocks. It can take a fall from up to 47.2 inches (non-operating mode) without harm to the drive or your information. The Rugged Mini is also pressure-resistant and rain-resistant. Being tough on the outside it is also a true performer on the inside. Consider its USB 3.0 interface which is also USB 2.0 compliant, with a transfer rate of up to 130 MB/s. The private-public software that comes built-into the drive ensures that you can keep your files private with the help of a password protected section of the drive. Plus, with USB 3.0 speed and full backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 you can use it on almost any computer. You can transfer a 700 Mb video in less than 7 seconds. Fantastic right out the box!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The program was super simple to install and the 3.6TB of actual usable space is more than enough for backups of my systems. The software walks you through each step and then the backup was really quick. Took about 30 minutes for my whole system.

Plenty of space

Besides the obvious 2TB of storage space but it's also strong with the rubber case that protects it from drops and having stuff fall on it. I always take my hard drive with me when I go on vacation and I'm always worried that it's going to get damaged in transit but no worries anymore with this one. It can take a licking and keep on ticking.

This works great with my HP laptop. It comes with everything you need including a USB 3.0 which is way faster than the 2.0. It definitely seems like it will last a long time and be extremely resilient to any kind of abuse it may endure. I love that it’s shock resistant for drops up to 4 feet, rain, and pressure resistant. I would definitely recommend this hard drive to anyone!

Shock resistant, pressure resistant, rain resistant, protective aluminum shell and comes with a shock resistant rubber sleeve. Very easy to install and so easy to use. So much space for my pictures and other important files. This external hard drive is perfect. I'd definitely recommend the LaCie Rugged Mini 2TB all terrain mobile hard drive.

Awesome Travel Storage

I used to use multiple zip drives in my line of work, and I would lose them constantly, or they would get dust in them and become un-usable. This LaCie Rugged Mini 2 TB hard drive has replaced all of my ancillary storage devices, and done it in a way that I don't worry about throwing it in my briefcase to be banged around during travel. Lightweight, fast for saving, and super convenient USB connector.

So much space!

Great for computer backup!

I'm just using it as a basic computer backup (docs, photos, etc.), and it fits the bill perfectly. At 2TB, I can backup everything on my computer with plenty of space leftover. It's about the size of a cellphone, but thicker. I haven't tried dropping it or getting it wet, but it seems incredibly sturdy/protected. Supports USB 3.0, so pretty fast transfer speed! It gets the job done for me.

This has a lot of storage and is small

At first i was blown away by all the specs, waterproof, drop proof etc. I am a marketing specialist so these specs blew me away as I have had drives fail in the past and wanted to avoid having to pay to recover data and the stress that comes with it. When I received the drive everything seemed to be in tact. Would recommend to a family member or colleague

The LaCie Rugged mini is no joke

I received it and plugged it into my pc, it fired up, got itself installed and I was blown away at the reaction times of the drive itself. I had another hard drive that even though it had hardly anything on it still took forever. The size of it is perfect. Drop it in your backpack, briefcase, purse or pocket and you are all set. With two ways to connect (usb or type c) I have my info within reach all the time. Its durable rubber exterior makes this beast of a hard drive a force to be reckoned with.
I would recommend this product to anyone who needs or wants to have all their info handy at all times. I love this product and I am hooked! Thank you LaCie for your top notch products I'm sold for life!

Fast transfer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little drive can hold a lot of data! The thing that surprised me the most was how fast transferring to this drive was, I copied almost my entire hard-drive in seconds. This comes with an orange rubber bumper around it to increase its durability. The bumper is removal but securely on so you don’t need to worry about it accidentally coming off. I’ve been using this as a backup drive and it’s been working great for that. I like the smaller size, it fits nicely in my fireproof safe. I’m very pleased with this little drive and would recommend it to friends.

Perfect for my busy and hectic life!

I use it to store my photos and videos from my phone that I cannot keep as well. You cannot beat the amount of storage space you get with it. You also get a trial of adobe as well! It's well made for sure and I dont have to worry about dropping it since its protected. I absolutely love it!
