Included with the Pentax KF is the PENTAX DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR Lens. This lens is a weather resistant version of the original DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL.

Clear-view optical viewfinder

Within its compact body, the PENTAX KF incorporates a glass prism viewfinder featuring the same optics and coatings as those used in higher-level models. With its approximately 100% field of view and 0.95-times magnification, the viewfinder provides a large, clear view of the subject for quick, easy confirmation of focusing and framing.

Vari-angle LCD monitor for easy image viewing from all angles

The vari-angle LCD monitor allows the monitor to be positioned at the desired angle, making it easier to compose images in a wide variety of situations: applications: high-angle shooting using outstretched arms, low-angle shots taken from ground level or astrophotography with the camera pointed upwards toward a star-filled sky. It also features a unique air-gapless construction, in which the air space between the high-definition LCD panel (with approximately 1,037,000 dots) and the protective cover has been filled with a special resin material.

Ricoh Pentax O-GPS2 GPS Unit

The PENTAX O-GPS2 provides reliable and high-precision positioning data gathered from GPS in the U.S., QZSS in Japan, GLONASS, and Galileo. When the PENTAX O-GPS2 is mounted on a compatible PENTAX digital SLR camera*, the user can record the latitude, longitude, altitude, universal time coordinated (UTC), and aspect of shooting locations onto captured images. Image files carrying the location data can be used to track shooting locations and review location data on a PC. The location data stored on such files also makes it much easier to sort and file recorded images.

By coupling the location data with the camera’s SR (Shake Reduction) system, the unit offers a range of unique, advanced applications, including the Astrotracer function, which makes it easy to capture stellar images of the night sky, Simple Navigation function, which calculates the direction and distance to a given destination from a current position, and Electronic Compass function which displays the camera’s direction on its LCD monitor with great precision

GPS Function

The O-GPS2 mounts on the hot shoe of a compatible camera and records the latitude, longitude, altitude, universal time coordinated (UTC), and direction of the shooting location onto captured images. In addition to GPS in the US and QZSS in Japan, GLONASS and Galileo can be newly received.
