Nikon's AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Lens is a lightweight standard focal length lens designed for use with DX-formats. It offers an equivalent focal length of 60mm in FX-format. Delivering true 1:1 magnification, this lens enables extremely tight perspectives for close-up imaging. Nikon loaded this lens with advanced features such as its Close Range Correction (CRC) system which works to maintain image quality when using very close perspectives.   Its Silent Wave Motor delivers smooth and precise autofocusing and there is a dedicated M/A mode allowing you to toggle between manual and autofocusing. The optics are subject to Super Integrated Coating, a process which layers anti-reflective layers onto the glass in order to maximize contrast and color fidelity. This lens creates a 57degree angle of view ( DX Picture Angle: 38degree 50'), a 6.42inches (16.3 cm) minimum focusing distance and accepts 52mm filters.

Close Range Correction System (CRC)

Nikon's leading focusing innovation is the Close Range Correction System (CRC). This system ensures incredible picture quality at close focus distances while also working to increase the focal range. In CRC lenses, the optics are constructed with a floating element design where each lens group moves individually in order to achieve focus.

Super Integrated Coating

The Nikon anti-reflective coating is an optical design feature which ensures superior clarity and image brilliance, even in poor or unfavorable lighting conditions. Nikon applies the anti-reflective coating through a special process, layering the lens surface in order to substantially reduce unwanted flare or ghosting. This process helps to ensure incredibly rich image contrast and true color fidelity.

M/A Mode

AF-S NIKKOR lenses include Nikon's proprietary M/A mode. This feature allows you to effortlessly switch from autofocus to manual operation with virtually no time lag. Regardless of the AF mode, you can simply and conveniently switch to manual focus even during AF servo operation.

Silent Wave Motor (SWM)

Nikon's Silent Wave Motor technology provides rapid auto-focusing while remaining exceedingly quiet and accurate. The result is a smooth and silent focus with minimal mechanical movement.
