The A8H is the pinnacle of the A Series, a three-way speaker that produces the precise and analytical sound required for critical listening conditions. The A8H has an 8-inch resonant Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) fiber woofer, a cutting-edge midrange driver, and a handcrafted precision X-ART tweeter, all of which combine to deliver an ultra-wide frequency response. With rotatable HPS waveguide technology and onboard DSP, the A8H, like the other members of the A Series family, allows you a lot of versatility when it comes to fine-tuning the sound. HPS Waveguide Technology

The Adam Audio HPS (high-frequency propagation system) waveguide technology allows tweeters to disperse sound in a controlled consistency, with a broad horizontal axis but tight focused in the vertical plane. With a rotatable HPS waveguide design, you can shift A Series tweeters in 90-degree steps to continue to benefit from HPS waveguide technology. It allows you to position the speaker either horizontally or vertically.

Rotatable HPS Waveguide and X-ART Tweeter

The A Series HPS Waveguide is constructed of a unique glass fiber polymer compound that aids in the creation of a clear, resonance-free sound. The Adam Audio X-ART tweeter is at the heart of the rotatable HPS waveguide. The X-ART tweeter is handcrafted in Germany and enables precise transient responses and reproduction of the finest sonic details. This speaker uses an X-ART tweeter, resulting in a detailed, uniform sound across the line.

Multi-Layer Mineral Woofer 

The woofer of the A8H is made out of a special blend of mineral stone fibers that have been baked together to create a lightweight yet extremely stable material. This woofer generates great output with low distortion and a clear low-end by combining this material with a new magnet system.

Midrange Driver

The A8H's midrange driver, adapted from Adam Audio's groundbreaking DCH midrange driver used in the S Series speakers, produces a clean sound in a critical part of the frequency range where humans are especially sensitive to sound coloration. The dedicated driver for the midrange helps clarify lows and highs by eliminating the need for woofers to reproduce midrange frequencies and thus reducing distortion.

Hybrid Amplification  

The woofer on the A8H has a Class D amplifier, which helps to deliver linear performance while minimizing distortion. In terms of energy consumption and sound reproduction, this amplifier has both power and efficiency. The low thermal dissipation allows for a smaller heat sink, allowing for additional investment in the A8H monitor's superior power and performance.

DSP-Based Electronics 

The A8H takes advantage of DSP-based electronics' revolutionary capability to give more tuning precision and predictability than analog-only speakers. With firmware that can be updated via Ethernet, you can expect to see Adam Audio's latest DSP-based capabilities, such as new filter types and features, as well as alternate voicings, over time.

Room Adaptation 

There are four bands of room adaptation equalization on the back panel of the Adam Audio A8H speaker including Bass, Desk, Presence, and Treble. Each band can be adjusted in predefined steps, providing over 100 tuning options to help compensate for common acoustic issues caused by speaker placement.

Voicings

A Voicing is a pre-defined sound profile of this monitor. On the back panel, you will find two different selections, UNR and Pure. Here you will also find the Ext option which is dedicated to the extended functionality that comes with A-Control via the Ethernet connection. 

A Control (Real-Time Remote Control) 

This monitor features a DSP-based functionality that can be controlled remotely and in real-time over Ethernet using the free to download A Control software. A Control is available to download for Windows and MacOS.
