The ergonomics of the M11 are improved by sliding the thumb rest into the accessory shoe. The camera can be held considerably more steadily and easily with the thumb placed up against the thumb rest. It allows for far more stable single-handed photography and the use of higher shutter speeds without the fear of camera shake.
