Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only)

Sony Alpha a7II is a full-frame mirrorless camera with 5-axis image stabilization that compensates for camera shake to provide sharp, crisp images with a wide range of mountable lenses. It comes with an enhanced Fast Hybrid AF system that delivers fast focusing, wide coverage, and effective tracking of fast-moving subjects. The Sony Alpha a7II comes packed with features like 5 fps AF/AE shooting, high-bitrate XAVC S format support, S-Log2 Gamma setting, Picture profiling, one-touch remote and one-touch sharing and more.

24.3MP Exmor CMOS Sensor

The Sony a7II employs a 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor that helps capture stunning images with 24.3MP resolution. The sensor also offers a sensitivity range of ISO 100-25600 for amazing low-light performance with low noise. Combined with the powerful BIONZ X image processor, the camera supports up to 5 fps continuous shooting and high-50Mb/s XAVC S video recording.

Pro-Quality XAVC S Format

Sony a7 II mirrorless’ high-bitrate XAVC S format movie recording format allows for outstanding image quality and minimal noise. It records Full HD (1920 x 1080) videos at 50 Mbps speed and uses linear PCM sound for high-quality sound recording. The XAVC S format was developed based on the professional XAVC 4K/HD format.

XGA OLED Tru-Finder

The a7 II mirrorless digital camera uses an XGA OLED Tru-Finder viewfinder that offers impressive visibility for stress-free, intuitive operation. It displays the effects of various camera settings that let you accurately monitor your final image. Moreover, an advanced three-lens optical system offers rich tonal gradation and extremely high contrast.

5 fps AF/AE Shooting

When your subject is moving fast, 5 fps continuous AF/AE shooting lets you capture decisive moments with sharp, well-exposed results. An improved algorithm accurately predicts subject movement that helps track subjects even when shooting continuously. Plus, an enhanced Fast Hybrid AF system delivers high-speed response, accurate prediction, and wide area coverage for autofocusing and tracking.

5-Axis Image Stabilization

The Alpha a7 II compensates for five types of camera shake during handheld shooting for both stills and videos. The system’s highly effective 4.5-step compensation gives a confidence boost when you zoom in on faraway subjects, snap detailed close-ups, capture night scenes and more.

Picture Profile, S-Log2, and More

The a7II comes with S-Log2 gamma settings, which is a common feature to Sony’s range of professional video cameras. S-Log expands the dynamic range by up to 1300% to minimize clipped highlights and loss of detail in shadows. The camera includes a Picture Profile that can easily adjust settings like gamma, black, level, and color adjustment, which can be saved during multi-camera shoots. Others features includes a Full HD base band HDMI output, time code/user bit for easier editing, synchronous recording feature with compatible devices, various marker and zebra displays on the LCD screen and viewfinder.

Wi-Fi and NFC Wireless Connectivity

With Wi-Fi, you can easily connect the Sony Alpha a7 II to your smartphones for One-touch sharing and One-touch remote features. In addition to Wi-Fi support, the camera also supports NFC (near field communication) for one-touch connection convenience when transferring images to NFC-enabled Android smartphones and tablets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I'm looking to make a career out of photography and was looking to get into the full frame side of things without breaking the bank. And i could not be happier with my decision. The quality of my photography has improved because of it. Thankyou.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great camera, Needs 2 changes. This Sony a7 II was bought as a platform for my old Rokkors for which it's nearly perfect. 5-axis image stabilization for 45 year old lenses? Pretty cool. I wish the overly large and way-too easily moved exposure dial was on the top left part of the camera, out of the way but where it belongs. Also, it could use a fully articulating rear screen. Boo hiss!! Also, the Pre Auto Focus option will infuriate you. Get your shot framed, focus, and the camera will refocus and refocus and refocus and... Grrr. I finally found that option embedded in the menu and disabled it. I still have plenty of APS-C Alpha gear that I absolutely love using, but for my old Rokkor lenses, this camera is da bomb!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I bought this camera some months ago, the quality of the pictures are very bad, this is the worst camera I ever had in my life. I’ll try to use the raw format, that supposed to be the best quality and even in this case the pictures was dark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel, great photos from day 1, room to grow I bought this 2 weeks ago and it has made this gloomy winter seem like a summer holiday. Really enjoying my Sony. With gratitude

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shutter button failure At the 2 year mark, my a9’s shutter button does not work correctly. It a defect in the model as I have seen many complaints about it online. For Sony not to address this problem is a problem in itself. I’ve been a professional commercial photographer for 38 years and have never had a shutter button malfunction. They should repair it free of charge. I own 5 Sony Mirrorless cameras.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice picture, terrible connectivity. I bought this camera a about a month ago and while I like the overall features of the camera, it is the connectivity features and mobile app ruin the experience. There are plenty of comments about the difficulties with WiFi connectivity and a horrendous mobile app but Sony seems def to the feedback. I would not buy another Sony camera again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes blurry pics I bought this camera few months back, but not satisfied with output. It takes Okies pics but not very sharp. If you zoom in the picture taken with this camera, it a bit blurry, I have canon T3i which is about 8 years old, and picture taken with t3i has no blurriness.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Battery life is no good, memory card door loose Bought this camera a few weeks ago, overall it a decent camera, controls take some time to get used to. Battery life is bad, even with non essential controls turned off also the memory card door is very annoying, loose and opens way too easily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight Pros: I love the weight of this camera as it's easy to hold in hand and does not agitate my wrist pain. Cons: no rotating LCD screen, no touchscreen, no reasonable amount of Sony manufactured budget lenses, no continuous AF, very limited low light capability
Date published: 2020-01-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not reliable Couple of things I'm unhappy with: 1) about 6 months ago I paid $1400 now it is only what $900- I lost a huge amount (%) of money in one swell foop. and 2) the camera will freeze up without any out of the ordinary input- moving from video to still mode the camera froze, turned it on and switched from A to Auto and it would not work. Oh and the menu tree is not easy to track- and, I do miss my Canon touch screen!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I paid half a months salary for this. could not connect the camera to my phone via Wi-Fi, and NFC did not even recognize the device.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not great i bought a half year ago. I think it a good product. But i hope it will have 4K and Slow-moving video.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I need in a camera I purchased the a7II for the purpose of being able to use vintage lenses from Konica, Minolta, Leica, Pentax, Olympus, Industar, Pentax, Zeiss, Fed, Contax, Kiev, Yashica, Nikon, Canon and a host of others. The Sony a7II has the widest range of after-market adapters for the above brands I mentioned, and possibly more. This camera can take rangefinder lenses, as well as SLR lenses, which is a huge advantage to any professional photographer. I love the way it feels in my hands. The shutter click sounds amazing. And the smaller than average size (it's mirrorless) is perfect. The menu layout is very logical and easy to figure out. The display automatically changes from viewfinder to LCD screen, and you can turn that off if you want. Add one more plus: It's a full-frame sensor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adaptability and features This camera allows me to use my vintage cameras with image stabilization. I am also impressed with the performance of my E series lens.. The feature set is far superior to the make of camera I have been using since 1986.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has everything I want out of a camera I have been shooting with my a7II since 2017. It has been used in the mountains, caves, rivers and all images have been of really good quality. I have been able to shoot handheld in the caves in Arkansas I was impressed with the photos. The camera is light and with the addition of the battery grip fits my hands comfortably. Even with my Sony 70/200 f4 lense you can shot off hand without a problem. With it being a full frame body, I can get the photos that I want in the size I want. In Cades Cove outside of Gatlinburg, TN, I was able to catch very good shots of a Black Bear juvenile running in front of our Jeep. This opportunity came at a seconds notice from my wife and our friend in the back seat shouting "Bear, Bear:, so I had to grab my camera, lean out the window and shoot about 5 frames of this juvenile.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from was good until it broke I bought this camera in February and I loved it ever since then. Recently the camera just stopped working it wouldn't even turn on at all. I don't know what the problem was or is at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly tech for the edge shot 4th Sony camera. This body lets me push my knowledge to limits and still has easy use features and great tech for excellent results. Used larger formats for 40 plus yrs. Happy I selected this one to add more new ideas to my adventures in photography

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the 7aII This camera is great, also the bundles that are offered are wonderful. I moved to Sony from Nikon with this purchase and couldn’t be more satisfied with Focus Cameras customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I bought this a few weeks ago and all i can say is that i am more that satisfied. The bundle had everything i expected and the camera performs amazing. I really recommend this to everyone passionate about photography.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from First of all...this camera came with a lens I just bought this camera and now learning it won't read the card...and that this has been a continual problem with this Sony model as well as others

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed with AF in movie mode I have this camera for over a year now. I was mainly taking pictures only. Can’t complain there at all. Since I started getting more into videos my frustration builded up. It seems impossible to get moving object into a focus. Tried all different settings, different lenses but the camera still can’t focus on what you need.
