Equipped with two 4-inch woofers and a 1-inch tweeter, the Sony SS-CS8 2-Way 3-Driver Center Channel Speaker handles 145W of peak power. The speaker's woofers use a mica-reinforced diaphragm, the upper surface of which is fashioned to deliver supple and faithful sound quality, while the bottom layer is designed to provide a powerful bass response.

Unique Design

The cabinet of the SS-CS8 is made from wood, which is designed to provide a natural resonance, and its bass reflex construction will give directionality to the low frequencies. The speaker's crossover network is mounted directly to the cabinet for vibration isolation, which is intended to assure low signal loss. Four rubber foot pads are included to isolate the speakers from your shelf, so as to reduce shelf vibration.

Mica-Reinforced Drivers

The SS-CS8 utilizes foamed, dual-layer mica woofer diaphragms - the upper surface is fashioned to deliver supple and faithful sound quality, while the bottom layer is designed to leverage low weight with strength for powerful bass response.

Optimized Crossover Component

The crossover network in the SS-CS8 is intended to assure minimal signal loss for an energetic vocal response with even the most delicate nuances. It is mounted directly to the cabinet for vibration isolation. 

Sony SACS9 10-Inch Active Subwoofer (Black)

Add bass to your home entertainment experience with the Sony SA-CS9 115W 10-Inch Active Subwoofer. Its 10-inch woofer is powered by a 115W amplifier. With a frequency response of 28 to 200 Hz, the SA-CS9 is equipped to handle a wide variety of listening material. Its controls include a phase switch, level adjustment, cut-off frequency adjust, and a power save mode. For installation flexibility, speaker and line level inputs are onboard. The woofer includes a 6.5-feet phono cord and four foot pads.

Unwanted vibrations are handled in two ways: by acoustically absorbing waves generated from the rear pressure of the unit, and damping vibrations within the cabinet itself. Designers optimized the type and layout of sound absorbing materials to keep cabinet vibration to a minimum.
