Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon
Following up the wildly successful Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD (model A011), the second generation Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5.6.3 Di VC USD G2 Telephoto Zoom Lens (model A022) sets the bar high in ultra-telephoto zoom performance. Upgraded features including a revamped optical design, advanced lens coatings, faster AF speed, and improved image stabilization all ensure superior handheld shooting image results.
Lens Construction
The three LD (low dispersion) lens elements of this zoomer's refreshed optical structure eliminate axial and transverse chromatic aberrations. Moreover, this G2 Telephoto Zoom Lens features Tamron's own eBand (Extended Bandwidth and Angular-Dependency) coating to put a stop to ghosting and flare--even when capturing a backlit photo. Treated with this nano-structure layer on top of regular anti-reflection coatings, the lens element transmits more light and offers enhanced anti-reflective performance, angulated incident rays in particular.
Digital Integrated Design (Di)
The Tamron SP 150-600mm G2 Lens boasts a Digital Integrated Design that's optimized for use with full-frame and APS-C format DSLR cameras. For exceptional performance and reliability, its optical construction of 21 glass elements in 13 groups is tailored to the characteristics of these cameras.
Super Performance (SP)
The telephoto lens is part of the brand's Super Performance (SP) series lineup. This ultra-high-performance lens is designed to meet the demands of professional and casual photographers who aim to achieve the highest possible image quality. Impressive and innovative, lenses bearing the SP logo are designed to a higher standard over traditional lenses. The zoom lens suits photographers who demand the very best.
Vibration Compensation (VC)
On the Tamron SP 150-600mm G2, Vibration Compensation is 4.5 stops and has three different modes. The standard VC mode 1 strikes a balance between the stability of the viewfinder image and the stabilization effects, VC mode 2 is for panning, and VC mode 3 prioritizes the stabilization of captured images, forgoing the stabilization of the viewfinder image.
Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD)
At the heart of the Tamron SP 150-600mm Di G2 Telephoto Zoom Lens' outstanding responsiveness and control is a USD motor. This ultra-zoom lens is also optimized with faster AF speed--the accuracy you need especially when you're capturing fast moving objects such as car races or sports action. You won't have to switch modes when you need to fine tune focusing adjustments manually since the full-time manual focus override feature lets you adjust accordingly when shooting.
eBand Coating
The Tamron SP 150-600mm Lens incorporates Tamron's own eBand optical coating technology that significantly reduces flare and ghosting which can ruin an otherwise perfect image. This nano-structured layer is paired with an advanced layer of anti-reflective multi-coatings to yield sharp, crisp photo results.
Flex Zoom Lock
The new Zoom Lock mechanism introduced on this second generation telephoto zoom lens is designed to rapidly lock or unlocks the zoom. This handy function works at any position with the simple slide of the lens' zoom ring. Capture images from any angle and travel with the confidence that the zoom won't accidently extend in the middle of shooting or transporting.
Fluorine Compound Coating
For advanced protection from the dirt, dust, moisture, and fingerprints, a water and oil repellent fluorine compound coating tops the front surface of the lens element. The lens' construction incorporates leak-proof seals throughout the lens barrel. This essentially provides optimal equipment protection when you're shooting outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
