The compact Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD Zoom Lens is designed for use with Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless camera and delivers high-image quality. It is Tamron’s first model for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras that comes equipped with VC (Vibration Compensation), letting you comfortably shoot handheld and can be easily carried along. Additionally, this 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD Lens has a minimum object distance of up to 23.6 inches at the 150mm end, allowing you to freely enjoy telephoto macro shooting of subjects at closeup distances. This lens is highly versatile and captures a wide array of subjects ranging from landscapes and birds to sports and wildlife.

Lens Design and Coatings

The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD’s design plays a major role in producing image quality. Its optical construction features 25 elements in 16 groups and utilizes special lens elements and hybrid aspherical lens elements that help reduce chromatic aberrations. BBAR-G21 coating, applied to the lens surface, suppress ghosting and flare that could otherwise occur under backlit conditions.

The 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Zoom Lens’ AF drive system utilizes the VXD2 linear motor focus mechanism. This mechanism delivers extreme high-speed and high-precision movement, ensuring exceptionally responsive performance when capturing wildlife, sports, and vehicles. The VXD2 linear motor also suppresses drive noise and vibrations during focusing, making the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 an ideal lens for shooting both still photos and video in environments that demand quietness.
