Designed for use with Sony EF-mount full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras, the A056 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD is a large aperture telephoto zoom lens by Tamron. It utilizes special lens elements packed in a compact body to provide an excellent optical performance from center to edge. The 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD Lens offers a fast f/2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range for superb performance. Thanks to a Minimum Object Distance of 33.5 inches, this lens expands the possibilities for photographic expression. Tamron has built this lens with VXD (Voicecoil eXtreme-torque Drive), a linear motor focus mechanism providing high-speed and high precision autofocus performance for both stills and videos.

The 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD Lens’ AF drive is equipped with VXD (Voicecoil eXtreme-torque Drive), a linear motor focus mechanism for stunningly fast and accurate auto-focusing. The drive comprises two VXD units that are arranged in a floating system and operated simultaneously via electronic control to achieve excellent optical performance at all shooting distances near and far.
