Samsung Gear IconX Cordfree Earbuds with Activity Tracker (Black, 2016) SKU: SM-R150NZKAXAR

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash! I'll keep it simple. Trash! Battery stinks and they die after 1 hour

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love it overall [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love them they are the best bluetooth ear bud I have ever owned but my only problem is that I can transfer music so I thought it was my first pair that I returned and got a new pair (and no not for that reason, the left ear is sensor didnt work properly) bud with my new pair I still cant and I dont know how I even bought a song for the buds and I cant use the song now

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Left earbud won't charge I know these are old but I didn't use them all that much and the left earbud won't charge and I was just a little over the warranty. Can anything be done?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from These are a waste of money! I brought these because I was so happy that Samsung decided to come out with earbuds. I have been a dedicated Samsung customer for years, but after getting these I was very disappointed. The battery does not last long at all.
Date published: 2019-01-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I used to love these I purchased two of these and recommended to countless others. They used to be great, but now the batteries only last about 20-30 minutes at the most. I am using these in standalone mode, no Bluetooth. And these did not come with a cleaning kit or instructions, so for a while, I could not hear out of one bud. I have since removed the clogged ear bud mat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from harbahe This is by far the worst earbuds I have ever own. These are nothing but garbage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea, Terrible Implementation I was given these as a gift and looking forward to finally not having to worry about wires hanging down when listening to music. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out. After 1 week, I would leave the earbuds charging in its case, and after leaving them charging for 2 straight days, I go to put them in and the left earbud says critical battery and the right earbud says 10%. I understand when it comes to wireless, battery life isn't the greatest, especially when devices are drawing a lot of power for the convenience of wireless, but to leave them charging for a couple of days and not have them barely charged at all, is another thing. The light on the little charger case is green which indicates full charge, however when turing them on and syncing them to my galaxy s6, it gives me the critical battery and 10% warning. I love Samsung and pretty much all my electronics are Samsung, but these were REALLY dissapointing. Maybe I have a faulty pair? Could be, but I would not recommend these to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very low durability Within 2-3 months of using the IconX headphones, one of the headphones becomes so quiet that you can barely hear it, regardless of the volume. The headphones are not dropped, and are only used when I run - the rest of the time they remain in their case. This problem has persisted through every pair of headphones that samsung has replaced. It is great that they replace their product, but it is very annoying having to mail in the headphones every 2 months because they stop working. I am now on my 4th pair of headphones that I am now having to return, yet again, for this issue and they have sent back a new pair of headphones each time, with the exact same issue reoccuring each and every time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Design, Poor Execution Design: A These earbuds are great in theory; the combination of features, sound, look, and fit are what you'd expect out of a pair of earbuds for the price. Execution: D The overall performance is absolutely not what you'd expect out of a pair of earbuds for the price. Bluetooth problems, battery life, and changing issues are some of the specifics I will elaborate on below. Fit: B+ As far as in-ear headphones, these fit great. I have odd ears; I use the small tips for my right ears and the medium tips for another, so the option to switch them is nice. That being said, I have never liked the in-ear design. I prefer designs that don't rely on the tip being wedged in your ear canal. These can become uncomfortable after prolonged periods of time, but I have never worn a pair of in-ear headphones where this was not the case. Sound: B+ If you're a true audiophile, you're probably not looking at bluetooth headphones. If you're not, the sound is definitely good enough. Like most bluetooth headphones, you're losing some of the extreme highs and lows, but everything you do get is pretty crisp and clear. Battery: D The battery life in these is terrible, and is probably their worst feature. I've had them last as little as an hour, usually get close to 2 hours before the 10% warning when listening on my phone. You can double the life by using the built in storage, but this limits you to preloaded music that you can only shuffle. The charging case will charge them back up pretty quickly, but it's still annoying to take them out for half an hour while you let them charge. Plus it's not too hard to wear the charging case out during the day too if you listen to music a lot. Charging Case: B As mentioned before, they charge the earbuds relatively quickly. However, sometimes they won't charge if they're not sitting in there right. The good news is the charging lights will let you know this is the case, and you can just take them out and put them back in and you'll be good to go. The bad news is it takes a 10-15 seconds for them to start blinking, so there's a good chance they'll be in your pocket out of sight before you see the blinking lights. I will admit that since I use different size tips for mine, I may experience this problem more so than others. Bluetooth: C- Range doesn't seem to be an issue; you can get up and walk to another room and have uninterrupted connection. It seems to be rapid movements, particularly biking, that mess up the connection. This is pretty annoying for me as I bike a lot. Other random connection interruptions happen sometimes, though it's seldom. You just stick them back in the case and take them back and they'll be good to go. Heartbeat Sensor: A+ Take this with a grain of salt, I've only used it a couple times because I'd prefer to spare my battery, but I have had no issues with the heartbeat sensor, and it's a neat little feature. Controls: B They're fairly straightforward. Sometimes you hit something you don't mean to, but they're definitely a helpful feature Storage: B Plenty of storage, which is good. Having to listen to your music on shuffle is not so good. Overall: C Good headphones in the grand scheme of things, but not sure if they're worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Left Earbud Syncing and Charging Issue. The left earbud, even after resetting, does not sync or play music and won't even charge properly. That is not the only problem, the earbuds do not sync with the Samsung gear app. Keeps asking me to check my mobile device compatibility or update app. I just bought these earbuds and worked for only a day. Looked at reviews and forums, and this is a common issue with the earbuds and with the Gear App trying to work with them. Good design and comfort but bad software and internal hardware. Not worth the price point for all the headaches. Now need to recontact Samsung again to start a return/refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I love how its like smart ear phones & the designs are PERFECT. keep working on these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery life is terrible When they work, they are great. They refuse to hold a charge for any length of time, and they drain in the case. Even at full charge I only get about an hour of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great concept terrible execution I'm sorry I bought these. They refuse to stay connected, constantly shutting off. Battery life is bogus. Plus even the smallest earpiece doesn't fit properly. What a waste of my hard earned money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working twice After using my headphones for the second time, the right earbud stopped working. The volume dropped significantly and no matter how much I turned it up, it would stay at the same volume. I exchanged my first pair and I had the same problem with the second pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, but not excellent.. Battery are the only problem for this product.. need to improve that..
Date published: 2017-05-23
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great sound quality, assuming you can find the right fit I received these and the Gear S3 Frontier watch as a birthday gift in January of 2017, I would first like to say that I several Samsung products (TV, Appliances, Phones, watches…etc) and have always been very happy with the company. When these headphones came out I had to have them for the gym (the main place they get used). I immediately loaded several hundred songs to the onboard 4 Gb of internal memory. I than inserted these into my ear when I noticed the sound quality seemed off, after trying all three of the included ear tips in combination with the included wings, I still could not obtain the song quality I thought Samsung would have. I began to do some research and found that people had similar issues. I found aftermarket “foam” Ear tips that seemed to do the job. Sound quality went through the roof, crisp highs, consistent deep lows. The only time the sound quality suffered (became poor) is when I would lay down to perform any bench press activities. Causing me to have to feel like I had to re adjust them when I sat back up from such an activity. The touch surface I found to be very bothersome and difficult to control, an attempted volume increase often resulted in skipping tracks, or pausing music. When attempting to have conversation with those around me I felt to need to remove one from my ear as I often could not pause in time to listen to anyone (meaning at times it may pause while other times it may higher the volume or skip to the next track). I than elected to use my phone as the music player for the frustration of the touch controls became annoying. The gear app I would say is great, as mentioned I have the S3 Frontier, switching between the two is relevantly simple through the app once you have completed it once or twice. The ability to see battery life, change music players, or utilize the s health is a nice feature of the app. Each time I arrived at the gym and attempted to place the ear bubs in my ear it would attempt to play tracks, skip tracks, higher or lower volume or several “other” touch features indicative of the earbud touch surface even with the phone as the connection device. The app does not make it possible to disconnect the touch feature of the earbud itself (something I believe should be corrected). I often utilize Pandora while working out and have a saved list of songs on various stations, each time I sit back up from a bench press activity and touch the earbud for adjustment it would often skip tracks of songs saved via the Pandora application. I cannot discuss the battery life much (as that seems to be the largest review complaint category) because it makes it though my gym workouts which are usually an hour to an hour and a half. The self-contained charging base it satisfactory and will only charge the earbuds maybe three times. However, I have left them in the charging base unplugged from the include cable over the weekend before and they completely died. Because I own so many Samsung devices and have always had good luck I constantly am trying to convince myself to like these and keep forcing myself to wear them and I know ultimately the inconsistent touch patch will eventually mean the demise of this generally expensive set of Bluetooth headphones. This will be the first Samsung device that I can say I am truly disappointed in, and it is not for lack of trying to like them as I have done everything I could.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good enough the earbuds are a little hard to put on, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy.. In the package, there are three sizes of the fitting ear hook, try everyone to see which is more comfortable for you.. battery last about 3 hours i think.. using it all the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gave Them Away I usually don't write negative reviews, but if I can save one other person from wasting their money, this will be worth my time. On my quest for the perfect grass cutting headphones, I found these beautifully crafted little devils. They securely fit in my ears, and I could not wait to use them. My excitement quickly faded. The benefits of the design clash with the tap commands. Every time I touched the earphone it did some unwanted function. Often, without touching anything, the earphones would simply shut off and then turn on and reconnect. I have a Samsung note 5, so I don't think compatibility was the problem, but the headphones had a mind of their own. I knew the short battery life might be a problem, but that never really bothered me. Attempting to keep the volume at a level I could hear the music was a problem. The gear software allows you to set volume levels, but every time the headphones disconnect and then reconnected, the volume level would reset to an unreasonable low volume. While the system gave warnings about high volume levels, trust me when I write that at maximum volume, which I was never able to maintain, my hearing was safe. I purchase a lot of "toys." This by far was my worst purchase. If you intend to buy a set of IconX headphones, please do your research. There are far better products on the market. My frustration over this product was so great that I finally gave my set to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Product... I bought these because I wanted a new set of ear buds that do not need my phone to listen to music while I work around the yard, work around in the house or just about anything else you would listen to music while doing something. FYI----- USE THE CORD THAT COMES WITH THE EARBUDS. ANY OTHER CORD WILL NOT LET YOU TRANSFER ANYTHING TO THEM. YOU CAN CHARGE THEM WITH ANY CORD BUT FOR TRANSFERRING OR SETUP USE THE CORD THAT COMES WITH THEM!!! 1. Out of the box they were already almost fully charged. 2. Setup was a pain at times but I eventually got them to work... 3. Its a must to have the Samsung Gear App for these to set them up correctly and load music on them correctly. (Do not try and load music Via the windows explorer. I did that and it did not play on both earbuds) 4. Plug them into your computer and let windows set them up for you. Easiest way to get that done. You can also use your Mobile device to set them up Via the Samsung Gear App as well. 5. The ambient feature is nice when your in a room with other people that are talking to you so you can hear them and respond back with out having to raise your voice. 6. Once you get them up and working great you might have to change out the pieces in order to get the desired bass response you are looking for. I used the ones that they came with and bass response was just okay. I changed them out to the largest ones and WOW what a difference that made! 7. The one, two ,three taps on the earbuds is just fine for me I don't have any issues with that at all. Same goes for the sliding up or down to increase or decrease the volume. You can also change that Via the Samsung Gear App as well on your mobile device. 8. Answering the phone with these is easy. Good quality sound and voice transfer is great. They can hear you on the other end fantastic. 9. Love the battery backup/case they come in. Much needed feature for these. I have yet to wear them and drain them out. 10. I am still in the process of learning how to use and navigate the app to better understand these little wonders! 11. The workout feature I have yet to use... All in all, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a set of earbuds that are stand alone with 4gig capacity to load up what ever music you like and take them with you everywhere! Very light and easy on the ears!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sound reason i did not give more stars is because the sound volume is not loud enough... i have volume all the way up and it still does not sound loud enough, i want to hear my music...... i want it loud i want control over how loud i want my music, i stop using them cause of that reason, i feel that it was a waste of money, i do like them but i want to turn my volume half way up and it will be to loud, i'm not sure what kind of speakers it has in them , but it can be better.......

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My least favorite Samsung product Pros: Size, fit, fitness tracking, music storage. Cons: Very sensitive touch pad that launches options too easily, no one can hear me when I use the pods for a call. I also can't hear anyone. The audio cuts out a lot. This has happened when it is connected to the phone, ipod or Smart TV. The gear circle is a much better performing device. Battery life if horrible. Not a step forward for this brand.
