Sony Alpha 9 II Mirrorless Full Frame Camera (Body Only)
Following the success of Alpha 9 camera, Sony brings you the Alpha 9 II Mirrorless Digital Camera with enhanced connectivity and workflow for on professional sports photography or photojournalism. It gives you an astonishing high-speed performance with continuous shooting at up to 20 fps with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure tracking at 60 calculations per second. The Alpha 9 II’s connectivity and network capabilities is drastically improved through built-in 1000BASE-T Ethernet terminal, USB-C interface and dual band Wi-Fi for smooth file transfers in real-time. It supports File Transfer over SSL or TLS encryption for increased data security and improved PC remote (tether) shooting performance. You can also embed voice notes to your images or send them separately as texts via Transfer and Tagging Add-On App.
Continuous Shooting up to 20 fps
Equipped with a 35mm full-frame 24.2MP stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor, Sony Alpha 9 II gives you an incredible high-speed performance with outstanding image quality. This advanced sensor combined together with BIONZ X image processor provide silent continuous shooting up to 20 fps at full 24.2MP resolution (RAW+JPEG) with up to 60 AF/AE tracking calculations per second without EVF or LCD blackout. The continuous autofocus feature is extremely useful for tracking erratically moving subjects with high precision and automatically adjusting the exposure through scenes with changing brightness levels for consistently accurate exposure.
The Sony Alpha 9 II mirrorless comes with an amazing Voice Memo function that will improve the speed of production workflow. This feature lets you attach voice notes to the images, which could be important information that needs to be sent to the editor. The camera can record voice memos up to 60 seconds that is attached as a wav file with the same name as the image file. The voice recording along with its corresponding image data can be easily transferred via FTP without any additional equipment or software. This feature is available for stills images only.
Transfer and Tagging Add-On App
With the Transfer and Tagging add-on Imaging Edge application you can transfer the voice tags and images directly to your mobile phone, where the voice tags are automatically converted to text captions. The converted text can be embedded to the JPEG images in the form of IPTC metadata or manually copied and pasted as required.
Ethernet Port for Fast Communication
The Sony Alpha 9 II Mirrorless Camera comes with an upgraded network functionality featuring a built-in connector for wired 1000BASE-T Ethernet terminal for stable data transfer operations, including remote shooting. The high-speed 1000BASE-T terminal allows data transfer at up to 1 Gbps. It also supports FTPS (File Transfer over SSL/TLS), allowing SSL or TLS encryption for increased data security.
5GHz Wireless LAN Support
Along with the 2.4 GHz band, the camera’s built-in wireless LAN functionality is updated with a 5 GHz band supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards. The 5 GHz interference allows for faster, more stable data transfer.
Wireless PC Remote (Tethered) Shooting
Easily connect the Alpha 9 II to a computer via USB or Wi-Fi for PC Remote (tethered) shooting using Sony’s Imaging Edge Remote desktop application (Ver. 2.0 or later). In addition to the PC connection, you can also connect your camera to any wireless access point for added flexibility. The camera also supports wired PC Remote (tethered) shooting via a USB Type-C connector that ensures smooth transfer of large uncompressed RAW image files. You can simultaneously review the RAW image files on the computer without interrupting the flow of the session.
Real-Time Tracking Automatically Tracks the Subject
The Real-Time Tracking function uses AI to continuously track moving subjects when shooting stills or movies, while automatically maintaining accurate focus when the shutter button is half-pressed. The camera’s advanced subject recognition algorithm uses the subject’s color, brightness, and distance/depth to process spatial information in real time. The Alpha 9 II comes with various modes that can be used for specific subject tracking like, Real-Time Eye AF for Humans, Eye AF Right/Left Eye Selection (Human), Real-Time Eye AF for Animals, etc.
3-Inch Tilting LCD Screen and Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder
The camera’s 3-inch 1.44M-dot LCD touch screen with WhiteMagic technology allows for detailed image viewing even in brightly-lit outdoor conditions. The screen’s tilting feature allows for flexible hold and framing. This new Sony Alpha model comes with a high-resolution, high-luminance Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder with approximately 3.69-million-dots resolution for fine detail reproduction. It offers up to 0.78x magnification with corner-to-corner clarity. The viewfinder surface comes with a ZEISS T* coating greatly reduces reflections.
5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
The camera’s utilizes high-precision gyro sensors with optimized image stabilization algorithms for up to 5.5-step shutter speed advantage. The 5-axis in-body image stabilization offers effective stabilization when shooting movies or stills using a wide range of lenses.
