The Tiffen 77mm Warm Soft/FX 5 Filter gives your photography a warm glowing effect and is ideal for photos of people. This is a unique filter that softens the fine unwanted details while retaining the sharpness of the large and important details. Combining the technology used by all Soft/FX series filters and an exclusive 812 warming filter, the Soft/FX 5 is in a league of its own.
Warm Images
The Tiffen 77mm Warm Soft/FX 5 Filter creates a soft, warm glow effect. It does this by diffusing strong light that enters the lens with small aberrations, spreading the light more evenly. Normally, when you shoot without a filter, the image is sharper and more defined. The Soft/FX 5 combines the Soft/FX technology with the exclusive 812 warming filter to balance contrasting skin tones.

The Soft/FX 5 is designed to put fine image elements such as skin wrinkles and blemishes out of focus while leaving eyes and other large details sharp. The Soft/FX 5 Filter retains overall clarity but softens the unwanted details. The strength of the filter is determined by the proportion of clear space to the diffused pattern on the glass. This also retains the overall image quality and sharpness.
ColorCore Technology
Tiffen filters used ColorCore technology, an exclusive technology in which the filter material is laminated between two pieces of optical glass that are ground flat to tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch and mounted in precision metal rings. The ColorCore process allows for more precise color and density in Tiffen filters.
