Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 Lens for Sony E-Mount
Perfect for landscapes and architectural photography, this Zeiss Touit 2.8/12 wide-angle lens makes wide-angle photography even more fascinating. Featuring a combination of widest fields of view in APS-C format photography with fantastic imaging performance and lightweight, this lens is sure to give you breathtaking results. Thanks to the Zeiss T* multicoating guarantees maximum transmission and outstanding absorption of extraneous light, you get amazing image quality from edge to edge and corner to corner of the entire image field. Additionally, all moving parts of this Zeiss Touit lens are conceived specifically for APS-C cameras and support all camera functions. The strong and rigid metal bayonet mount makes it an absolutely dependable companion for years.
Smooth and Reliable Autofocus
Thanks to the extremely precise movement of certain lens elements, the autofocus system of this Touit lens is smooth and completely reliable. Various motor types are installed for the mass of the elements or groups to be moved within the optical system. The focusing system guarantees robust and smooth autofocusing without any need for compromises or limitations.
Virtually Distortion-Free Optics
This lens opens up new composition possibilities using dramatic perspectives and a view from extraordinary image angles. Due to distortion, the straight lines, whose image does not go through the image center, would be reproduced with a curved shape disrupting the whole composition. Thanks to the elaborated optical designs of this Zeiss lens, this annoying distortion effect is accordingly and largely compensated.
Zeiss T* Anti-Reflective Coating
The Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating featured on all surfaces in a combination with an optical design guarantees images of superior brilliance at all times, even in unfavorable lighting conditions. This coating is applied to the lens surface by the vapor deposition of extremely thin, transparent layers on the glass. This process is completed by vaporizing special substances with extremely high energy in a high-vacuum environment and subsequently depositing on the glass surfaces, one after another, as layers with precisely controlled thicknesses to achieve the desired reduction of reflective properties.
Floating Elements Design
The Zeiss Touit Lens uses the latest floating element design principles for keeping up with the demands of today’s camera technologies and high-resolution sensors. This design reduces optical aberration effects to a minimum throughout their entire focusing range. This can be achieved by variation of the axial distance between individual lens elements or groups. This adjustment of the lens-to-lens distance is coupled to the distance setting to ensure correct compensation at all times.
