Vortex Strike Eagle® 1-8x24 FFP EBR-8 MOA Riflescope

Prepare for immediate impact

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP gives the accurate holdovers at any magnification you’ve been looking for in an LPVO, allowing you to dominate close-quarters and stretch your effective range. The EBR-8 reticle provides true red dot-like performance at 1x and holdovers out to 600 yards, and an included ranging feature lets you make quick decisions in the reticle. With 9 daylight and 2 night-vision settings, you can dial up illumination to perfectly match your shooting scenario. Put all that in a 30mm tube with capped turrets to keep your zero safe, plus a throw lever for rapid mag changes, and you have an LPVO born to ring steel.

Reticle Focal Plane (Second Focal Plane vs First Focal Plane)

All riflescope reticles can be termed either first focal plane (FFP) or second focal plane (SFP), with respect to the reticle’s location within the optical system. An SFP reticle is visually consistent in size and weight across the magnification range; however the subtension values are only accurate on one magnification, typically the highest. In contrast, an FFP reticle will scale with magnification, and their subtensions used for ranging, holdovers, and wind corrections will remain constant. The reticle size will appear larger at higher magnifications, and smaller at low magnification.

First Focal Plane Reticle

This riflescope features a first focal plane (FFP) reticle. FFP reticles are located within the riflescope near the windage and elevation turrets, in front of the erector tube. This style of reticle will appear to grow and shrink as you change the magnification.

EBR-8 Reticle

Our exclusive EBR-8 MOA First Focal Plane, glass-etched, illuminated reticle facilitates rapid shooting from point-blank out to 600 yards with popular .223/5.56mm and .308/7.62mm loads. This reticle also can be used with a wide variety of other calibers and loads using the BDC hashmarks.

MOA Subtensions

The EBR-8 MOA reticle is based on Minute of Angle (MOA) subtensions. MOA is an angular unit of measurement used to account for bullet drop, wind corrections, and range estimation. 1 MOA will correspond to 1.047" for each 100 yards.

Ocular Focus – Fast-Focus Eyepiece

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses a Fast-Focus Eyepiece designed to easily adjust the focus on the riflescope’s reticle. The ocular focus is typically a one-time adjustment used to focus the reticle for maximum sharpness. This adjustment is slightly different for every shooter. A clearly focused reticle is a critical component for accurate shooting. When setting up a scope, this should be the first adjustment you make and should only need to be changed from user to user, or if your eyesight changes over time.

Parallax

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP comes equipped with a fixed parallax setting at 125 yds. There is no adjustment on this model.

Magnification Adjustment

The magnification adjustment is used to change the riflescope’s power. The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP is a variable-powered optic with an 8x optical design. This will allow you to change the power from 1x to 8x using the Magnification Adjustment Ring. To adjust your optic’s magnification, rotate the Magnification Adjustment Ring clockwise, or counterclockwise, to increase or decrease the magnification to your desired level.

Throw Lever

Make magnification adjustments smooth and easy by attaching the included Throw Lever.

Turrets

Turrets are used to adjust the bullet’s point of impact. The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses 1/4 MOA turret adjustments on both the Windage and Elevation Turrets. Each click will move the bullet’s point of impact roughly 1/4" at 100 yards. The turret on the top of the riflescope is the Elevation Turret, which is used to adjust the bullet’s point of impact up and down. The turret on the right-hand side of the rifle scope is the Windage Turret and is used to adjust the bullet’s point of impact left and right.

Capped Turrets

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP has capped turrets. This protects the turrets from accidental adjustment while out in the field, in transit, or in storage. You will need to remove the caps prior to making any adjustments on the turrets.

Illumination

The Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP uses a variable intensity reticle illumination system, found on the optic’s left-hand side. To activate the illumination, rotate the illumination dial to the desired intensity setting. The Strike Eagle has nine daylight illumination settings, and two night vision compatible settings. To turn the illumination off, dial the Illumination Dial to “0.”

Vortex Strike Eagle® 1-8x24 FFP EBR-8 MOA Riflescope

Vortex Strike Eagle® 1-8x24 FFP EBR-8 MOA Riflescope SKU: SE-1801

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price Fast shipping This is actually a decent scope. Yeah, full magnification is far from perfect. It has a very useable reticle. Comes with a throw lever that you can place wherever it suits you best. My biggest complaint is the “FREE” lens covers will not stay on, unless you glue or tape them down…..I guess a hose clamp could be an option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very very effective scope I love the way this scope is built. It’s effective, fast, and very accurate. Will be buying more as I accumulate more ars. Great price as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great FFP Scope for the money I bought this scope for my 300blk AR15 and it has been awesome. The turrets have very defined detents making zeroing and dialing easy. The reticle provides the perfect amount of data and due to the FFP configuration, it will run as a red dot on 1x and a proper scope with hold overs as you crank it up. Great value add to have the throw lever included as most competitors don’t. The lens covers are not great. Okay for storage but when I flip them up, they come right off rather than pop open. Overall, very much worth the money but if lens covers are import to you, I’d be ready to purchase some different ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great optic! I’ve had this for a few years now, I’ll admit I don’t shoot on the daily maybe twice a month? But it’s held up perfectly with a perfect zero at up to 600 yards with 16.5” barrel 556

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent scope Had this scope on my .308 platform for a few months and so far, it is awesome, I like the FFP for my old eyes. Glass is clear and the scope is built well. The only complaint is the flip cover will not stay on. Not a big deal. I just cut a section of a bicycle tire and it is good to go. No more popping off so you other guys quit crying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for This scope was recommended by Tim Wolfe, a fellow multigun shooter. I was previously using a SFP. This is much easier to use. At closer distance it is a red dot. I have used it at 600 yards and consistently hit the target using the BDC reticle. The glass is clear and bright. Although it is the same reticle as my SFP this one doesn't seem as busy. Thank you
