LaCie Rugged Mini 5TB USB 3.0 External Portable Hard Drive

The LaCie Rugged Mini Hard Drive has a rugged hard design that can withstand shocks. It can take a fall from up to 47.2 inches (non-operating mode) without harm to the drive or your information. The Rugged Mini is also pressure-resistant and rain-resistant. Being tough on the outside it is also a true performer on the inside. Consider its USB 3.0 interface which is also USB 2.0 compliant, with a transfer rate of up to 130 MB/s. The private-public software that comes built-into the drive ensures that you can keep your files private with the help of a password protected section of the drive. The iconic orange design is another popular feature of the hard drive.

USB 3.0 Compatibility

Plus, with USB 3.0 speed and full backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 you can use it on almost any computer. You can transfer a 700 Mb video in less than 7 seconds. You can also use the LaCie Mac USB 3.0 Driver to improve data transfer speed on your Mac (Up to 30% performance increase compared to FireWire 800).

Returns

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.
You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges. 
You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days. 
If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery. If there is carrier damage, please contact [email protected] with your order number and a description of the damage.

We do not currently offer exchanges. Please return the item you purchased within 30 days and order what you’d like instead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LaCie 4TB Rugged Mini USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with Rescue Data Recovery Services is perfect for saving all those files, pictures, videos and more that take up space on your computer! This orange rugged little device is drop, shock and water resistant with its thick rubber case. It has a 4TB of space that will hold so much data and is password protected and it is small enough to carry with you especially when on the go. It comes with micro USB 3.1 Gen 1 to USB TypeC cable so it can even plug into your smartphone to save data as well. It also has Rescue Data Recovery Services to backup your computer that is easy to use and also comes with a month subscription to Adobe's Creative Cloud All Apps plan to try out. This device is formatted for both Windows PC and Mac versions. This small device is little but mighty when it comes to speed also, it is fast transferring date and pics. I highly recommend the LaCie 4TB Rugged Mini USB 3.0 External Hard Drive for traveling and for keeping all your data and pictures save while saving space on your computer!

So far, I am really happy with HDD. It has good transfer rates and it doesn't take forever to copy all my things. I also like that it is made for a bit rougher environments and won't break a hit. I will keep you posted if this might change in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this LaCie 4TB All-Terrain Mobile Hard Drive to keep all of my photos on, as well as to back up my computer. And let me tell you it is MORE than enough!! I can take so many more photos now, and videos too. without having to worry about running out of space! The silicone case that comes on the hard drive is thick and seems very sturdy too! I don't think you'll be disappointed if you get one of these for your storage solutions!

I have had a few LaCie branded hard drives over the year and they have never failed me. They give that extra piece of mind when traveling that they will stand up to a dropped bag etc.

The software walks you through each step and then the backup was really quick. Took about 30 minutes for my whole system.
