Canon 40mm Lens f/2.8 STM EF Compact Standard Lens

Unique in its own right Canon’s EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens certainly stands out. The lens’ incredible compact size makes it your ideal go to lens at all times. Being lightweight also makes it ideal for travel photography; its unobtrusive design helps you as a photographer avoid overwhelming your subject with a large lens. Its bright f/2.8 aperture allows you to shoot under any lighting condition. This Canon 40mm lens also includes one aspherical element along with optimized coatings which greatly reduces ghosting and flare and delivers excellent color fidelity.

STM Functionality 

The lens smooth transition for motion (STM) provides you with continuous video autofocus when used with the Canon EOS 70D, Rebel T4I and T5i cameras. The STM motor means that autofocus is completely silent under all conditions. That’s not all this 40mm lens will give you a view equivalent to 64mm when used on a camera with an APS-C sensor and is able to focus as close as 11.81”. The Canon 40mm lens is excellent for shooting landscapes, stills, cityscapes making it a lightweight and discreet alternative for big zooms.

Returns

Returns are incredibly simple. Please log into your account, find your item you wish to return and follow the prompts to make a return. If you do not have an account, click here to find your order and make a return.
You will receive a full refund when you return an item in its original manufacturer’s packaging, undamaged and unmarked. If the item you are returning is priced at less than $35, you will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Please note you will not be refunded any shipping charges. 
You have 30 days to make a return. During the holiday season, from November 1 to December 31, we extend the return window to 60 days. 
If your order has been noticeably damaged in transit, we strongly recommend that you refuse delivery and notify us immediately. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be made within 48 hours of delivery. If there is carrier damage, please contact [email protected] with your order number and a description of the damage.

We do not currently offer exchanges. Please return the item you purchased within 30 days and order what you’d like instead. 
If you ordered a kit, you must return all components and accessories to receive a full refund. 
If you ordered a product that included a free item, you must include the free item with your return. If not, your return will not be accepted and you will not receive a full refund. 
We currently only offer camera repairs at our Brooklyn store. The item must be dropped off and collected in person as we do not accept shipped items for repair. For more information, please call our Brooklyn store on 1.718.431.7900.

Image quality is very good, but do not expect it to perform like L glass. Know what you are buying. I use this on both digital Canon bodies and EOS film cameras. Very happy with my purchase.

The slight vignette it gives my images is something that I really enjoy. It’s super sharp and makes my camera so lightweight and easy going. For the price, it’s stellar, and even without considering the price it’s a worthy companion for my camera.

I don't have a camera for it without an adapter. Ideally a small camera that can mate with the EF mount. EOS R or M6 are all fine but I have to use an adapter either way, which is a pity.
