The Grandstage X has seven independent sound engines, each capable of outstanding results on its own. These engines give unparalleled performance quality for a variety of sounds which makes the Grandstage X stand out.

The SGX-2 acoustic piano sound engine gives Grandstage X an edge over others. It includes a library of world-renowned pianos. With the SGX-2 unleash your creative side with non-looping samples on all keys, velocity switching of up to 12 levels, and a damper resonance reproducing the sound of pedal pressure, and mechanical noise. The Korg Grandstage X has 13 main pianos, that include 6 well-known grand pianos selected from German, Italian, Japanese classic grand pianos. The new GSX Piano and Nautilus Piano allow layering with the GSX Far Piano and Nautilus Far Piano creating the perfect piano ambience for your performance. It features other piano sounds like those from small grand pianos, the OASYS Piano popular with band ensembles, the SG1D Korg stage piano, and the M1 Piano that can be used to recreate sonic masterpieces from the 80's and 90's pop music. Three mono piano tones and a midrange-focused tone variation were made available on request from piano players across the globe. These mono piano tones do not interfere with the EQ bandwidth of other instruments. The electric piano sound source ‘EP-1’ adds the Tine I Early to the typical model that uses a metal bar tine method of strike. It has an earthy, distorted tone ideal to create many classic records. It features seven vintage electric piano sounds ranging from Tine I Late, Tine II, Tine V, DMP, and the 200 and 200A, based on the striking method of the diaphragm (reed). It has MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology which responds beautifully to keyboard touches.

The tone wheel organ sound source ‘CX-3’ reproduces the Korg combo organ’s sound. The transistor organ sound source ‘VOX’ replicates the VOX organ’s sound, originally released in the 1960s. The other transistor organ sound source, FC-1, reproduces the small organ’s sound, something that dominated the ‘60s. The rotary speaker effect is built into the sound source and the vibrato effect makes you feel like you are enjoying the organ’s effects.

The Korg Grandstage has 700 sound programs, five sound engines, and an AL-1 analog modeling sound source. It has the HD-1 PCM sound source that offers keyboard instrument sounds like the 8-step multi-sampled Clavi D and Clavi E, pipe organ, harpsichord, a 6-step multi-sampled electric grand piano, and that of the FM electric piano.
