The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A2 RX is a fast-aperture ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for use with Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. It is compatible with many camera-specific features and functions, including Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF. This ultra-wide-angle zoom lens offers an aperture of f/2.8 across the entire zoom range. When used with a compatible Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless camera body, it’s easy to record videos using a compact tripod or gimbal. The optical construction utilizes special lens elements that are optimally arranged to suppress optical aberrations to produce sharp, high-quality images. Plus, the lens offers a minimum object distance of 5.9 inches at the 11mm end and 9.4 inches at the 20mm end for amazing closeup shots. The lens uses a fast precision AF drive system with an RXD (Rapid- eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit. The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Lens expands the shooting experience by combining excellent portability with the ability to capture images unique to fast-aperture ultra-wide-angle lenses.

Outstanding Optical Performance

The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8’s construction includes 12 elements in 10 groups. It utilizes two precisely located GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements that help capture high-resolution with edge-to-edge sharpness. Plus, it also features one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements that control optical aberrations to produce sharp images with natural colors and rich saturation. BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating on the lens surface suppresses ghosting and flare to a minimum level and reveals the minute details of objects even when the subject is backlit.

Wide-Angle Macro with a MOD of 5.9 Inches

This 11-20mm f/2.8 lens has a minimum object distance of 5.9 inches at the 11mm focal length setting and 9.4 inches at the 20mm end. This results in offering extreme close-range shooting performance. The lens offers a maximum magnification ratio is 1:4 at the widest 11mm setting. The lens unlocks powerful wide-angle macro shooting utilizing the unique perspective that makes near objects look larger and distant objects smaller. Plus, using the f/2.8 maximum aperture produces a shallower depth-of-field that creates soft bokeh in the background, allowing users to take distinctive images with unique expressions.

Compact and Lightweight for Superior Usability

The 11-20mm f/2.8 measures only 3.4 inches in length and weighs just 11.8 oz. It perfectly balances when used with a compact APS-C mirrorless camera body. You can enjoy the unique and powerful world of ultra-wide-angle photography at the 11mm end (the full-frame equivalent of 16.5mm). Suitable for regular use, the 20mm focal length (the full-frame equivalent of 30mm) is ideal for casual snapshot photography such as street shooting.
