Focus and Stabilization
The lens features Dual HLA-driven floating focus for fast and accurate AF, utilizing a high-thrust HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) as the focus actuator. The floating focus configuration, where two focus groups move in opposite directions, achieves extremely fast and highly responsive AF. The latest OS2 stabilization algorithm provides image stabilization of 7.5 stops at the Wide end and 5.5 stops at the Tele end. Notably, the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS Sports exhibits minimal focus breathing on both wide and tele ends, making it a potent lens for video applications. The minimal change in center of gravity ensures stable shooting in various situations, including handheld, on a tripod, and with a gimbal. During zooming, five groups move to suppress aberration fluctuation, maintaining high optical performance throughout the zoom range.
