Vortex Optics 400 1/4-inch Thread Binocular Tripod Adapter SKU: 400-VortexOptics

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Adapter Great Adapter. I have it on three pair of my binoculars to quickly mount to tripods when looking for wild game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HARD TO TIGHTEN i put this on the crossfire 12x50 which are large and it is difficult to tighten. i ended up using a pair of needle nose pliers which ended up scratching the finish. once tightened i have had no problems but if you plan to use this i would suggest having it on your binoculars before you leave the house.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does it’s job, sort of There really isn’t much to a product like this. It screws into my bino’s and mounts to a tripod. The reason I’m not giving it a very good review is for two reasons. One- it doesn’t really feel that secure when I mount my binoculars to it. Two- They are very hard to screw into my binos. This is also for two reasons, one reason being because I have big hands, the other is because there isn’t much room in between the my vortex diamondback bino’s to twist the handle. I’m wondering if the plastic handle was a little longer or not quite as bulky then I wouldn’t have to try so hard to squeeze my fingers in there to tighten it. For this reason I actually found it easier to use my bushnell tripod adapter which is more compact and fits in between the gap in my bino’s better, allowing someone with larger hands and/or narrow bino’s to tighten them much easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bino Tripod Adapter So I bought this Adapter and as others have said it is a little hard to get in and off. So here is what I came up with. 3/8 drive extension and 14 mm socket and it goes on and off much easer. 1/4 drive would work also. Here are some pics. I hope this helps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, required additional washer At first I thought the adapter was a pretty bad design. It was difficult to attach with fingers (but not too bad with my Maven 10x42, though some binos with larger lenses might be impossible). There was also a lot of play and wobble. HOWEVER, I took it apart and added a tiny plastic washer between where the vertical post attaches to the mounting bolt. This tightened everything up and still makes on/off attachment easy enough! Now I can recommend this adapter but without this washer, it's very frustrating to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design...needs update fast! Love vortex products, but this mount is very poorly designed. The ability to tighten to your binos is limited/prohibited by the short screw handle. If they extended the screw handle a couple inches, it would GREATLY improve the functionality. I bought this for an elk trip....and it's sat in my bag the entire time. Don't buy until they improve the design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money I bought this over a year ago and it takes about 30 minutes of fumbling around to attach to your Vortex Binos. The head that you would normally turn with your fingers is so small and so poorly engineered you have to carry a leatherman with you to tighten it. It’s impossible to hand tighten. You would have to have the fingers of a 4 year old girl and the strength of an ox on steroids to possibly attach this in under a minute. Very poorly engineered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad design I'll start off by saying it works.. But unfortunately it's a true pain to try and get screwed on and off. I have a pair of Viper 10x50 and the twisting element to tighten the binos to the mount comes right in between the narrowest opening between lenses, making fitting your fingers between the lenses to twist annoyingly difficult.
